Railsider recently took part in a conference organised by Mobility LAB Vitoria-Gasteiz<\/strong>, a leading forum focused on analysing the role of data spaces in improving operational efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness<\/strong> within the logistics sector.<\/p>\n

The event, held at the Europa Conference Centre, brought together representatives from public administrations, technology providers and companies linked to intermodal transport and railway logistics, creating a space for dialogue centred on innovation, collaboration and the exchange of real-world experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

A real use case based on RFID and data sharing<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the conference, \u00c1lvaro Alcaraz<\/strong> from Railsider\u2019s Wagons Department participated in a round table dedicated to real use cases within the logistics ecosystem<\/strong>. During his presentation, he shared the company\u2019s experience in developing a pilot project based on RFID technology and the integration of data-sharing platforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This project has significantly improved the traceability of railway movements, optimised wagon management and strengthened coordination with other logistics operators, demonstrating the value of digitalisation in complex operational environments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The presentation highlighted how access to real-time information and the automation of operational events have become key elements for planning and decision-making, particularly in high-turnover scenarios, sensitive asset management or urgent operations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Improved wagon identification, reduced waiting times and connectivity with interoperable systems clearly show the potential of these technologies to anticipate manoeuvres, optimise resources and deliver a more efficient and reliable logistics service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Towards collaborative, data-driven models<\/strong><\/p>\n

Railsider also underlined the importance of moving towards collaborative models based on shared data<\/strong>, where interoperability between companies and public administrations enables process improvement, increases overall logistics system efficiency and supports the transition towards a more flexible, connected and sustainable logistics model.<\/p>\n
