After more than 18 years as CEO of Railsider, Iceta takes on the leadership of the Group to address the company’s new strategic challenges.
At Railsider, we are proud to share news of special relevance for our team and for Grupo Algeposa. Daniel Iceta Ortueta has been appointed the new CEO of Algeposa, taking over the leadership of the group following the retirement of Carlos González.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Carlos González for his 40-year professional career, 18 of them at the head of the company, where his leadership and commitment have been key to positioning the group as a leading logistics operator.
A commitment to internal talent and business knowledge
Daniel Iceta’s appointment represents recognition of his career and a firm commitment to in-house talent. A graduate in Economics and Business Studies from the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, Daniel has 27 years of experience within the organisation.
For Railsider, this step is particularly significant: Daniel has led Algeposa’s railway division for the last 18 years and has been our CEO, bringing a strategic vision of the business, the sector and our customers’ needs.
As highlighted by the company chaired by María Luisa Guibert, this decision reflects “a commitment to internal talent” and is closely linked to the group’s commitment to the region and to the professional growth of the people who form part of the organisation.
Ready for the challenges ahead
With this handover, Grupo Algeposa — an integrated logistics operator that currently has 480 employees and consolidated turnover of around €155 million — strengthens its business project.
Daniel Iceta’s knowledge of port, industrial and, especially, railway logistics will be key to the development and implementation of the company’s new strategic plan.
At Railsider, we congratulate Daniel Iceta on this new professional stage and wish him every success at the head of Grupo Algeposa.
