Railsider is making progress on the expansion of its Júndiz terminal in Vitoria-Gasteiz, a project designed to significantly strengthen its logistics capacity and broaden the facility’s operational capabilities.
The project will result in an 80% increase in the total occupied area. The existing warehouse will be expanded by 50%, reaching 7,000 m² of covered storage space, while the outdoor yard will become four times larger than its current size.
The terminal also features two mixed-gauge railway tracks, further enhancing its ability to handle different types of rail traffic.
The expansion will increase storage and distribution capacity both indoors and outdoors, while also enabling the terminal to handle a wider range of products.

One of the most significant improvements will be the ability to handle trains of up to 21 wagons carrying steel products, which is the standard configuration commonly used in European rail freight transport.
Construction is progressing across several areas. By mid-September, the structure was 95% complete, with the walls almost finished and work on the internal slab, installations and enclosures scheduled to continue.
Completion and commissioning are expected by the end of 2026. The works are being carried out alongside normal terminal operations, without disrupting day-to-day activity.
