Railsider Mediterráneo is proud to announce the completion of its project of Adaptation and improvement of the railway terminal in the Railsider Mediterráneo Warehouse in the T.M. of Sagunto (PATSYD/22/00205), successfully culminating an ambitious transformation process that positions us as a strategic logistic node fully integrated in the Mediterranean Corridor in international gauge. This progress represents a firm step forward in our commitment to the modernization, intermodality and competitiveness of rail transport.

The project has been supported by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, complying with the demanding technical and operational requirements established in the specifications for the conversion of terminals to the UIC standard. In addition, it has been possible thanks to the concession of a grant of €1,033,963.74, awarded in competitive concurrence in the first call for the subsidies of the program to support sustainable and digital transport (PATSYD), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). This support has made it possible to partially finance the works for the reconversion of the track yard, the accesses and the facilities required to comply with European interoperability.

With this transformation, our terminal is now fully operational in international gauge, allowing the direct circulation of UIC trains without transshipments or axle changes. This represents a strategic advantage for our customers, reducing transit times, simplifying international logistics and optimizing operating costs. At the same time, it strengthens our ability to attract new cross-border traffic and to integrate the terminal into the main European rail networks, thus helping to promote rail transport as a sustainable, low-emission alternative.

At Railsider Mediterranean we celebrate this achievement as the result of the collective effort of all parties involved, from our internal teams to railway operators, collaborating companies and public administrations. This performance reinforces our role as a logistics platform of reference in the Mediterranean and reflects our firm intention to continue investing in innovative solutions that generate value for our customers and contribute to the sustainable development of the sector.
