Railsider Atlántico boosts its European expansion alongside SIDENOR with regular rail shipments for GHH Bonatrans and GHH Radsatz
Railsider Atlántico S.A., a specialist in rail logistics and intermodal transport, is strengthening its presence in Europe thanks to its strategic collaboration with SIDENOR, a leader in speciality long steels. This alliance allows for the standardisation of international rail shipments to key manufacturers in the railway sector, such as GHH BONATRANS and its subsidiary GHH RADSATZ, a company with more than 200 years of experience in the manufacture of wheels and axles for high-speed trains, trams, undergrounds, locomotives, and freight cars.
In this operation, complete rail freight trains are consolidated, departing from Railsider Atlántico's facilities in Irun, where wagons with up to 8 axles and a net capacity of 140 tonnes each are loaded. Thanks to the technology and machinery available —including forklifts with a capacity of up to 37 tonnes— trains can be assembled with a net cargo capacity of up to 1,300 tonnes, optimising heavy rail transport performance.
The trains are transported to Bohumín, Czech Republic, in coordination with key partners such as the SNCF Group and the national rail operator ČD Cargo, thus demonstrating a highly efficient and sustainable international logistics collaboration.
This initiative is a significant step in Railsider's internationalisation, strengthening its role as a rail logistics operator in Europe and consolidating its commitment to providing steel rail transport and industrial logistics solutions for major manufacturers in the rail sector.
