Railsider Atlántico S.A., in collaboration with several companies specialized in railway projects, is consolidating its activity and reinforcing its position in the rail logistics sector, thanks to the versatility of its mixed-gauge rail access (UIC and Iberian gauges) at its facilities strategically located at the rail border in Irún.
As part of its growth, Railsider Atlántico has carried out major rail transfer operations and bogie exchange activities. Among the most recent operations, the transshipment of an 80-ton PLASSER tamping machine stands out. It was transferred from international UIC gauge to a special transport truck. In addition, a successful bogie change was completed on a 56-ton ROVER tamping machine. This operation, conducted in collaboration with APROJETS, involved removing the UIC-gauge bogies and replacing them with Iberian-gauge ones, thus enabling continued circulation on the Iberian Peninsula's rail infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Railsider Atlántico plans to expand its involvement in rail transshipment and re-expedition of rolling stock, including passenger coaches and locomotives, for the main national railway manufacturers who are currently driving their international expansion.
These initiatives position Railsider Atlántico as a key player in international rail logistics, offering advanced solutions for rail transshipment, rolling stock adaptation, and infrastructure management at one of the main connection hubs between Spain and Europe.
