The French multinational CONSTELLIUM, specialising in the development and manufacture of aluminium products, has placed its trust in RAILSIDER ATLÁNTICO S. A. to manage its door-to-door rail logistics on the Iberian Peninsula.
This new agreement adds to the existing operations of RAILSIDER ATLÁNTICO, which currently uses its approved warehouse in Irún to manage the logistics of aluminium coils for the multinational BALL. From this strategic location, the storage and distribution of merchandise from Europe and other continents is coordinated, both for plants in southwest France and for a number of destinations on the Iberian Peninsula.
One of the major added benefits of this collaborative initiative is multi-gauge access to the centre of Irún, allowing for both international (UIC) and Iberian gauges to be used, thus optimising cross-border logistics connections.
Furthermore, thanks to joint work with CONSTELLIUM and SNCF, specific equipment has been developed to facilitate loading, unloading, and transport operations in sliding-roof train wagons with a net capacity of 65 tonnes. This allows the equivalent of three lorries to be moved per wagon, with a significantly lower environmental impact as CO₂ emissions are reduced a great deal.

This collaborative effort strengthens RAILSIDER ATLÁNTICO's commitment to more efficient, safer, and more sustainable logistics that are adapted to the needs of the industrial sector and aligned with transport decarbonisation goals.
