The RAILSIDER FRANCE intermodal terminal, strategically located in Hendaye, has seen a significant increase in the number of ITUs (Intermodal Transport Units) handled thanks to the addition of new rail freight traffic since December.
The arrival of six weekly batches of intermodal containers from the German logistics operator Kombiverkehr represents a milestone for the combined transport platform, strengthening its position as a key hub in cross-border rail logistics between France, Germany, and other European markets.
Added to this flow is the recent commencement of the Vigneron Group's swap body traffic, amounting to four additional weekly batches. Both services complement the historical traffic that RAILSIDER FRANCE has handled for years for companies in the chemical sector like Kemone and Forwardis.
Thanks to the entity's advanced infrastructure, which includes a 45-tonne crane (capable of handling both 20"-45" containers and swap bodies using a clamp system) and three rail tracks measuring 250 metres each, the terminal offers a comprehensive logistics solution tailored to multimodal transport needs.
RAILSIDER FRANCE continues supporting a sustainable and efficient logistics model, combining rail transport with custom intermodal solutions. This growth reaffirms the company’s commitment to European connectivity and supply chain optimisation.
